Fall and winter may have brought out long peacoats and trenches before, but not this year. One of the most sought-after pieces for the upcoming season will be the shrunken jacket, in a variety of styles. The difference between these new, tinier versions of your traditional autumn and winter favorites is their length; cuts are the same as traditional coats, but they hit slightly above the waist and often tie or button under the chest. The beauty of these new pieces is that they provide coverage in colder months without sacrificing sexiness or femininity.

The perfect jacket is one of the most important elements of your wardrobe, and with so many shapes and fabrics available this fall, it would be a crime to choose just one. The ever-present denim jacket is back with a new vengeance. Instead of the washes of last season or bulkiness of years before, this season?s denim jacket is soft, body-conscious and far more feminine than the traditional denim jacket. Corduroy and leather are back again, cropped and ready to be worn over anything from your favorite dress to distressed jeans.

A new take on an old favorite is safe, but take advantage on the amazing new fabrics and styles the end of the year has to offer. Brocade is big this season and some of the most sought-after new jackets are made of the rich, detailed design. Many of these brocaded, boudoir-style jackets are trimmed in rich velvet or lace piping and can be paired with tweed trousers of you favorite jeans. Many of these new jackets are cut at the hip but some are reaching even higher?cropped just below the chest (H & M). Made in rich, new fabrics like tweed and velvet, these jackets have mixed a traditionally matronly fabric with a cut and cling that makes it youthful and sexy. Even faux fur and metallic finishes are adorning the newest trend (Allen B. by Allen Schwartz).

Getting short isn?t the only new addition to a cold weather favorite. Sleeves are getting revamped this season, retro-style. Traditional coat fabrics like houndstooth are being used in a new way. Bell sleeves (think bellbottom sleeves, cut below the elbow) mix cropped length with a traditional fabric and throwback to 70s style (Banana Republic). You?ll also see a mini version of the military jacket this season; a cropped, girlie take on the long, heavy style, adorned with brass buttons and zippers (Bebe).

The beauty of these new jackets is the versatility they bring to your own style: mix them with denim, dresses, skirts and trousers. Since there isn?t one specific style or fabric that will reign this fall, all styles and sizes can take advantage of a new take on an old favorite.

My answer is?why not? Now, let?s take define casual clothes for a moment here. Casual is defined as relaxed, comfortable, sporty, laid-back and informal. Now, if that?s the case, I don?t see a problem with wearing casual clothes clubbing. Obviously, we want to look good when we go clubbing because of the fact that we either want to attract the opposite sex, look classy or perhaps keep our image intact.

But I have seen lots of women and celebrities who look fanta-bulous in casual clothes in clubs too. In fact, what you can do is flip through some magazines and you?ll soon see that even celebrities wear casual clothes clubbing. The point is that we?re comfortable in the casual clothes that we wear and don?t compromise the way we look.

First off, the casual clothes that you choose to wear to go clubbing should have nice colors. If you feel like it, wear something with attractive prints. Perhaps, with a popular saying or an expressive t-shirt or something. Casual clothes that give you a personality boost. Casual clothes that gives you character ? no, let me say that again, casual clothes that enhance your personal character.

As long as you don?t choose casual clothes that are either too baggy and the casual clothes should make you look neat and presentable. When you?re wearing casual clothes clubbing, slippers, sandals and sports shoes are totally out of the question, regardless of the attire. The belts and accessories that you have on with your casual clothes will definitely make a big difference to your clubbing experience. Try a nice little casual tank top with cropped khaki pants with large hoop earrings for a change.

You?re not expected to be able to afford the kind of clubbing clothes that a CEO or royalty can afford but it?s essential that you invest in good quality casual clothes for clubbing. The bottom line is your clubbing casual clothes should never be your gym clothes or jeans. Well, ok, sometimes you can pull it off with nicely pressed casual clothes with jeans.

This holiday season textures are in. Specifically, lace, velvet, brocade, beads, sequins and furs.

According to December's issue of Vogue magazine, "The new formal party dress drips with drop-dead lace -- and looks best with big-time jewels." This is very exciting news but at the same time can be quite confusing.

How does one mix all these textures and not look like a cheap motel room?

The key style tip to remember here is that your ultimate goal is to maintain your own personal GLAMOUR.

>From slim-fitting just below the knee to a length closer to empire, this season's dresses borrow from victorian and vintage themes.

Jewelry is big here, and though your insticts are telling you to tone down the super fab lace dress with simple jewelry, the trend is the opposite. Instead, think of using jewelry to emphasize your outfit.

If wearing a dress is not your thing, and you'd rather be in a skirt or pants, consider velvet as your main texture. The fuzzy classic is easy to find at any clothing reatiler. Stick to simplicity with style because remember that your jewelry, combined with velvet's galor,is enough to make you shine.

A lovely combination that can be customized is the velvet jacket, over a camisole or corset with a tiered skirt, slim brocade pants or fitting velvet trousers. In theory you already have your three basic outfits all in one!

Ruffled tuxedo shirts or pintucked shirts can be swapped out for the camisole.

Alternatively, if wearing those lovely velvet pants with a velvet jacket seems too much for your personal style, then consider swapping out the jacket and dressing up the camisole or tuxedo shirt with a crochet shrug or cashmere cardigan. Both are hot off the shelves this season.

It is perfectly okay to forego the above advise and just wear jeans. The jeans that will make an impact now are slim fitting jeans. Either way, you can still wear that velvet jacket or shrug over a camisole.

According to Issac Mizrahi on the Dec. 2, Good Morning America television show (ABC,) wearing a lot of jewelry over the top of a plain shirt is a good choice for gamorizing jeans to a cocktail party.

Mizrahi recommends a lot of necklaces and all different colored beads saying, "... Let the fun and nighttime be in the bead, in the jewelry."

1) Add a piece of jewelry to an outfit. It can be a nice bracelet, a simple necklace, a pair of earrings or even a nice watch. Don?t over do it with the jewelry. Just add something simple to your already existing outfit.

2) Dress up a pair of jeans. I know we dress up for work five days a week and we want a day where we can just tone things down and relax. Dressing up a pair of jeans can be as simple as changing from an old t-shirt to a nicer shirt or maybe a blouse. You can even add a simple jacket depending on the outing.

3) Update you current handbag. By adding a simple handbag you can create a totally different style in the way that an outfit looks and the way that you feel. Handbags are an accessory to any outfit and you should think of it as such.

4) Incorporate some simple beauty tips such as drinking plenty of water. Water promotes rejuvenation of the skin to give the skin a natural healthy glow.

5) Take some time out for yourself. Every one needs time to unwind and relax. In a previous article that I wrote ?Finding Time to Pamper Yourself,? I outlined some tips to follow to assist in taking and making the time for yourself.

If you are spoon shaped:

Wear shirts that tend to fall straight down and don't cling, to hide a bulky stomach.

Or wear a snug t-shirt with a button up shirt or sweater over it, leaving the buttons unfastened on the shirt or sweater.

Wear shorts and skirts that are short to emphasize your good feature (your legs).

The best swimsuit for women who are big on top and little on bottom is a full piece that is high cut in the hips.

This hides the stomach, and shows of slender legs and buttocks.

If you are an extremely skinny woman all over:

Wear skirts that flounce out and shirts that ruffle to give you a more rounded appearance.

Wear semi loose dresses that are cinched only in the right spots.

For instance emphasize a small waist with a dress that is cinched in the middle but flounces out from the hips to give a curvy appearance.

Wear snug jeans, or loose slacks with a pull over sweater, these will both work well for your figure type.

The best swimsuits for skinny women are of course bikinis. Full pieces give slender women a ?little girl? appearance, and are not very attractive.

The bikini?s are best if they?re high cut in the hips and butt. This flatters a thin woman best by showing off her waist and legs.

Low cut bikini?s will also work well with a skinny woman though, if you want to emphasize slender hips.

If you?re a large woman all over:

You should go for just slightly loose fitting clothes. Too loose and you?ll only make yourself appear bigger.

Choose mainly capri?s and knee length skirts or dress for summer. Avoid shorts, mini skirts, or short dresses until you slim down.
